“5 stars!”
“Chris's German Auto Service has been maintaining my '09 911S since purchased 2 years ago. Their patience, professionalism and caring approach is like nothing I've experienced before. There is no other place you need to take your Porsche for the best technicians, facilities and management.”
“Amazing service for your Porsche.”
“Following a disappointing experience ($$) at the Bellevue Porsche dealer I had a problem arise with my car. I found Chris's after some searching and the reviews were so positive that I set an appointment. John and Chris both were very giving of their time and advice and I never felt hurried or pressured.
So far they've found and fixed an intermittent issue as well as done some very nice upgrades to the vehicle. It has been a great experience and fairly priced.
I expect that my car won't be going anywhere else for service in the future.”
“Chris' is a great shop and John is a good guide for determining what needs to be done to correct problems, perform routine maintenance, etc. John and Chris also saved me from a costly used Porsche mistake through a very thorough pre-purchase inspection (PPI). Highly recommended!”
“Chris, JR and the rest of the crew are great. Always excellent service and I have total trust in what they tell me.”
“Incredibly skilled Porsche fanatic mechanics. These guys are the best of the best.”
“I have been taking my C4S to Chris for the past 15+ years (?maybe closer to 20?) They are amazing. They are super at explaining the repairs that need to be done, and why. I have always been very appreciative of their knowledge, expertise and honesty. It is wonderful to not feel like you are being "taken to the cleaners" as I have unfortunately felt in dealing with repair departments at dealerships in the past. John is so personable, knowledgable, and very gracious at the front desk. The mechanics are also patient and take the time to explain what is being done to your automobile. I love the new facility as well. All around a great experience!”
“Chris's German is now the only place I'll take my Porsche for service. I discovered these guys about 5 years ago, and nobody else is allowed to touch the car now. John (front desk) is fantastic. Service is great - these guys know their stuff and take great care of their customers. Communication is excellent - I always know exactly what is going on with my car when it is in with them. And they know Porsche's so well that they can find creative (and often less expensive) solutions to problems that would really challenge most other service shops. I highly, highly recommend them for any Porsche needs you have.”
“Unexpectedly, I have become a member to the Porsche family and have had some very encouraging experiences with Chris's German Auto. They have been very helpful, patient and courteous throughout my dealings. Sometimes routine maintenance, sometimes adding upgrades as well as a couple of mechanical issues. Never felt as though they were trying to make work or charge more than what was fair. They have also hosted in the "Tech Talks" series put on by the Pacific Northwest Porsche Club, which I appreciate. Definitely, give my highest recommendation.”
“This is the place to take your Porsche. Chris, John, and the crew not only know there stuff, but they are reasonably price and often give you advice about available, lower cost options. They have repeatedly proven that they have your best interest at heart. Excellent shop.”
“No question, THE place to have your Porsche worked on, no matter the model or age.”
“If you have a Porsche and you want the very best service, performed in the highest profession manor, I would recommend Chris's. They've provided excellent service to my 911.”
“I've been taking my Porsches to Chris' for close to 10 years. Chris' has expertly serviced my 993 and my GT3. Regardless of air or water cooled, rear engine, mid engine, front engine, SUV or sedan you'll see them all at Chris'. If you want straight answers and expert Porsche service you need to call Chris'.
If you're in the market for a Porsche give Chris a call. I followed his advice and bought the GT3. Great advice.”
“Best around. Take my classic Porsche and my modern one here.”
“After relocating my 2002 Boxster from California to Washington I did a little on-line research along with reaching out to friends to find someplace for servicing. I did have a need to replace the cooling water reservoir before I was able to find a place so had Barrier Porsche (now owned by Auto Nation) make the repair. The service there was excellent but I like dealing with smaller, more personable shops. When things settled down for me I made a decision to give Chris's German Auto a visit. I met both John and Chris and immediately liked what I heard from them. They had all the right answers to my questions so I scheduled a general fluid change and overall inspection. Though this was a minor servicing I was very pleased with their work and will continue to use them for future work. Even though I only made one visit I rated them 5 star. I expect that my next visit will confirm that rating.”
“Chris and team KNOW Porsche's - new & old. Having a long-standing, trusted, and friendly professional to care for my GT3 for the track & street has made ownership all the better.
Chris make's sure to have a professional staff, starting at the front with John, and then through the guys that diagnose, repair, and even improve the car.”
“This place is top notch; 100% honest, and does the job right the first time. DON'T waste your money at the dealer - come and have 1st class service and see why everyone in town with a Porsche knows these guys.”
“The only place you should take your Porsche! Actual Porsche technicians who specialize in working on these incredible machines. This shop is made up of friendly, knowledgeable, expert technicians who do honest, ethical and excellent work. I will continue referring friends here & they have earned a customer for life”
“Top notch. Great shop. My experience with them was with air-cooled cars, and Chris and his crew were always on top of it.”
“Absolutely the ONLY place to take your precious classic vehicle. Chris and the men who work there love what they do, are real artists, and give the utmost attention to details. They brought my Dad's 1963 Porsche up to almost showroom condition. I still have work to do to fine tune everything, but will not hesitate to go back to Chris to have the work completed. Dick Beaudry”
“The guys at Chris's are always happy to offer a bit of advice and when they do work they are thorough and professional. This is a place where they immediately understand the problem your vehicle is facing and know how to resolve it without experimenting. If you are looking to enhance the performance of your Porsche, Chris and his team are race bred with a winning history. This is the definitive Porsche shop for the region, none better.”
“Always outstanding service and an excellent staff of mechanics.”
“Not only do they have the expertise - they enjoy sharing their knowledge. I recently had a pre-purchase inspection done on a Porsche 996 series turbo and they confirmed that the car was sound, but also discovered a number of features listed for the car weren't installed and more important, they identified and explained the details behind the need for several thousand dollars of remedial/add on work needed to bring the car to the proper condition I would have expected. I totally recommend them and will use them for any non-warranty work on my current Porsche.”
“John and Chris are always great to work with. Great service!”
“Chris's German Auto is the expert when it comes to maintaining and repairing Porsches. I have taken my 2002 C4S to Chris's over the last several years for a couple of different reasons, including replacement of the IMS bearing. In every situation I have found them to stand behind their work and did it at a reasonable cost. In fact, I have stopped in for minor inquiries a couple of times and they fixed the issue immediately at no cost. I highly recommend any Porsche owner to use Chris's German Auto.”
“Chris's is my go-to place when I want top-notch service and expertise. The staff are all very friendly and really know their stuff.
There are several reputable shop's in the greater Seattle area where I would trust my older cars to and Chris's is not the cheapest or most-convenient for me. That said, Chris's is where I go if I need specialized work, or if I just want to be absolutely sure that the work is done right. His shop is the first place I recommend if someone asks me for the best place to take their Porsche.”
“I have nothing but praise for Chris's. The first time I had my 356 in they diagnosed and fixed a problem that three other shops couldn't handle.
They always deliver what they promise and treat me very well. What more could one ask?”
“without a doubt the best team of technicians and service specialists for your Porsche. Leading the way in M96 Water cooled car service and repair with a major in air-cooled tuning, service and restoration.
I have had my car worked on and referred many people. I always come away feeling like I was treated fairly, my car received the best service and I know I will be back when and if needed. I also found they treat you like family, remembering your name, car and what was done last time...making suggestions and offering to go above and beyond the call of duty. I have even stopped in and had minor things fixed right on the spot with a "don't worry about it" repair bill... what more could an enthusiast want - My 86 3.2 with 190k miles is under their care as was my previous 99' 996 C2 with over 125k miles. Water cooled experts and LNE trained in the newest repairs for keeping them going.
Lastly, if you need something else, they offer referrals to other great places and I have found their referrals to be excellent !! Great place for a PPI's too !”
“Chris's German Auto, made everything right. These guys made everything right. I am again a satisfied costumer.”
“They recently serviced my Porsche and I can not give them a higher rating. Very thorough job doing everything, free inspection of the car and great communication from the mechanic who did the actual work
Their service prices are much lower than the dealer and I like their use of better quality oil, etc.. than most repair shops. 5-stars!! I will be back for future services.”
“Chris's German just moved to a bigger, nicer facility that is convenient to get to. We have four Porsches and take them all to Chris's for service as they work on all kinds of Porsches, from 911's to Cayennes and everything in between. The technicians are extremely experienced and knowledgeable and Chris's team goes above and beyond to source parts at a discount and pass those savings on to the customer. You can always depend on Chris's to tell you exactly what your car needs and when it needs it. You can't find a nicer bunch of guys to work with and we would never take our Porsches anywhere else!”
“Often, in life, there are moments when 1 singular act, can trigger such chaos, that it literally requires the idea that "It takes a Village to raise a child." When that child is in the form of a vehicle, and not only misused by one OTHER than it's loving owner, but returned to it's rightful place in such poor condition that most advise to simply "Write it Off", it is the hope that we as a community, still believe in "Soul Repair". Enter "John" A Man I met over the phone. A voice of such positive nature that you simply could not help but be hopeful. Enter the scenario, it is a vehicle in need of an "Artisan's" hands, and the mind of one with compassion.
After relaying what was needed, what the owner had been through, and where this all began, "John" simply stated..."Let's get her back to where she needs to be." At that point, I began to realize that "John" was not simply referring to the vehicle, but also to the heart and mind of the owner of said vehicle. Not only did "John" facilitate the shipment of the non running vehicle to Chris's German Auto, He also kept in touch with me during every step of the process. If they had completed something, "John" let me know. If the vehicle needed something they could not do, "John" made a call, and opened the doorway for myself to pass through, thus clearing the "Red Tape" of being a typical "Walk In, Have to Tell the Story Again All Over" client.
After all was said and done, Mr. John Robison, "Service Writer" of Chris's German Auto, gave life back to what was considered a lost cause. You see, this vehicle is not mine, I am writing about my Boss and her Porsche 911 Turbo. And the team at "Chris's German Auto" worked tirelessly, almost with a "Davinci'esque" nature. Consumed and emblazoned with determination, accepting no LESS than Excellence, and providing a welcome return to an Owner that has "Been Through It." But Her story is for another day.
On this day, I thank John Robison "Service Writer" and Hero Of Communications, Hunter McDonald "Technician" and Mechanical Genius, and most importantly, the one I have yet to mention. The person with which none of this healing would be possible, had this Man decided to be a Chemist in a Lab, due to his formal education. I humbly and gratefully thank Mr. Chris Powell, "Owner / Technician and Member of PCA National Technical Committee All 911, 1974-1994" For it is one thing to be an "Owner" of any given establishment, it is ENTIRELY different, to be able to spot the talent in another, and delegate that individual into an organic algorithm that can create a "WELL OILED TEAM." Although I only met the 3, my compliments and thanks to the WHOLE of "Chris's German Auto" for their hard work, dedication to their craft, and their kindness to someone in whom I find a Mentor, a Friend, and my Boss. You see, I could have brought in ANY type of vehicle, and they would have still kept to the same code of "Service Before Self." And when she requires a break from assisting others, and feels the weight of the entire World on her shoulders, nothing makes me happier, than to see her be able to, as "John" put it..."Just Go..." What someone else had so selfishly taken from her, "Chris's German Auto" gave back to her, and then some.
Well done.
Respectfully,
Thomas S.”
“I first started using Chris German when I needed a second opinion on a repair. First shop told me '$10k and an engine rebuild'. Second opinion from CG was, let's repair the leaks, plus they spotted an additional problem, sourced the part, and installed it all for the original budgeted amount. Car runs great, lots of power, doesn't burn oil, and didn't need a rebuild. Not yet!
I drive an older 993, and it's great to work with a shop that understands the car, and can work with me to do the right repairs, at a reasonable cost.”
“These guys routinely save me thousands of dollars over what a Porsche dealership would charge for similar services. By "routinely" I mean like almost every time I go there. Example: the service advisor at P. Bellevue said I needed about $3200 of work on a Cayman S. Chris and his crew patiently explained why none of this work was needed, except for replacement of a broken bolt for a grand total of $70.00. They may not have a luxe waiting room with free coffee, TV and pastries, but it is far more entertaining to shoot the breeze with JR who has a wealth of knowledge about sport driving, racing, and the local sports car scene. Oh, and they saved me from making two very expensive mistakes when deciding whether to buy used Porsches.”
“These people are like family. The first time I went in was to talk to them about buying a 996 and I was looking for advice. It was a Friday afternoon and I sat down with John (service manager) for a good 30 minutes chatting about cars. Some of the mechanics popped in as well and joined the conversation.
Next time I went in was to inquire about pre-purchase inspections since I had located a 996 that I was potentially interested in. Again, we chatted for a while and based on our conversation, I decided to revise my search parameters.
Fast forward to last month and I found a "too good to be true" 996 in the Bay Area. I printed out the info and asked John (and Chris who was there) to talk me out of buying that car. They gave me some pointers and then I did something nuts and decided to buy a different one in Palm Springs. While I'm getting a local PPI done in Palm Springs, I phone up Chris' and spoke with John and explained what I was doing - I'd done my due diligence on the car based on their coaching as well as what I'd learned myself by reading the various forums and generally trying to be an educated buyer. John took the time to go through a few items that he thought that I should check despite the clean service history. As I result of his advice, I had an uneventful 1400 mile drive back to Bellevue.
Naturally, I popped in the day after I got back to get them to take a look at my purchase and to a "post purchase inspection." Chris was able to do that on the spot (no guarantee that he'd be able to do the same if you drop in.) and did a thorough diagnostics check and drive test. He then reviewed the service history and like a medical specialist gave me some recommendations, one of which was to go and see Tru-Line to check the alignment.
I had identified a smell of gas and by process of elimination narrowed it down to the fuel sender area under the battery. I emailed Chris the picture and showed up the next day because he thought it might be a quick fix. Long story short is that it wasn't and is going to be a complex procedure of removing and replacing the fuel line. But the bottom line is that they're open, honest and straightforward. I don't feel like I'm being taken for a ride and I feel that they want to do the job properly. Case in point with this fuel line issue: it is not a common repair. They've never done one on a 996. Nor has Barrier (the local dealer), so they're going to make sure that they take the time to learn how to do it, which will help other customers in the future.
These are car guys and great people. You'll be happy with the way that you're treated and the service that they provide.”
“If you have a Porsche and it's not under warranty Chris and his crew are the only people you want touching it.
From day one I felt like family. JR in the front office is always up for a chat about anything automotive and Chris and the techs are always keen to show you the cool stuff they're working on.
My father took his Porsche to a good shop in Seattle and even they ended up having to call Chris to get the parts and advice they needed for his repair.
This is one of those rare places where you feel like part of the team working on your car.
Such a great business.”
“Chris's is the place to go with your classic Porsche, or even new one.
We have 4 Porsches ranging from 1973 to 2008 and they take care of everything. No job too complicated. Had an emergency this week with my daily driver 911 and it was in and out in two days even though there were maybe 20+ cars in the lot and bays. i highly recommend them.”
“5 stars!”
“Incredibly savvy Porsche experts. Best in the entire state of Washington. Dealer can't touch these guys. I will bring every Porsche I own the rest of my life to this place.
*Honest.
*Thorough.
*Maximum Integrity.
*Incredibly Friendly.
More than fair price work. If you have a Porsche and you don't service it here well... you probably need to re-evaluate choices and probably other poor life choices you have made.
Give them a try you won't regret it.”
